If we were inclined toward spectacle, this oil might probably be called Berau 15k or 50k — a label that has the price masquerading as identity. But Berau needs no theatrics.
Distilled from the cleaning dust of wild Berau agarwood — material that yielded a scattering of true sinkers and 80% high-grade half-sinking wood — this oil was coaxed in a small pot over gentle fire, in the patient Taiwanese tradition of low-temperature distillation. Nothing rushed. Nothing forced.
The result is astonishingly airy. A clarity almost crystalline.
The opening lifts with bright fruit and high florals — luminous, transparent — before settling into the unmistakable signature of green Borneo microcarpa: dry, elegant, quietly resinous. The drydown carries the dignity of fine wild wood, not loud, not syrupy, but composed.
